At first there was the thread is a special edition of the monthly exhibition of the Cesena Fair dedicated to the rich Italian textile heritage: from embroidery to lace, from weaving techniques to new products, a rich exhibition and market where you can dive into the world of fabrics, embroidery, brocades and learn of the most traditional manual techniques. 

19 and 20 January 2019 C’era una volta… Antiquariato, the usual exhibition of antiques and brocantages that takes place every month in Cesena is enriched with textures and fabrics from all over Italy in a precious collection of creative and artistic ideas dedicated to the world of yarn. During the two-days, you will find exhibitions, demonstrations, workshops and a rich section dedicated to the sale of fabrics and yarns, accessories, books and publications, original products and artefacts.A unique opportunity to see and touch the best of Italian textiles, a wealth of history, culture, art and tradition.

An exhibition-market for all lovers of vintage, art and DIY. Fabrics, lace and brocades are a transversal element that allow us to immerse ourselves in a distant world, to revive historical periods and moments with the strength and charm of everyday objects that, literally, allow us to wear clothes full of stories of the past.
