OUR HISTORY

FAMILY, EXPERIENCE, EVOLUTION

A STORY SPANNING THREE GENERATIONS

A FAMILY THAT HAS TURNED ITS LOVE FOR THE LAND AND WINE INTO A TRUE ITALIAN STORY

The history of Rinomata Cantina Tombacco begins in 1919, when Giovanni Battista Tombacco decided to follow the call of the most authentic bond he knew: the bond he felt with the land.
This led to the creation of an agricultural business, initially dedicated to peach cultivation, guided by a deep respect for the land and its potential. Giovanni Battista himself soon understood that the vine was the crop that best suited that generous land, transforming the company into a winery.
Around him and his wife Marcella grew a large family of eleven children, all involved from a young age in the life of the fields and the daily work of the winery. Agricultural work became a shared experience, a natural and profound way to pass on values of commitment and respect for the land and for people.
In the 1950s, with the return from Venezuela of Bruno Tombacco, Giovanni Battista’s eldest son, the company entered an important phase of development. The first part of the winery was built next to the family home, and logistics warehouses were established in Venice, Mestre, and Jesolo, marking a decisive step toward a more structured organization.
In a tragic attempt to rescue a worker who had fainted due to fumes from a tank, Bruno Tombacco lost his life, just 35 years old. His act of courage was later recognized with several honors.
It was in this environment that Giuliano Tombacco, the youngest of eleven children, grew up. He began working at the winery at a very young age, gaining hands-on experience in the field.
Between the vineyards and the winery, Giuliano developed a deep understanding of winemaking and a strong sense of responsibility. These values became the guiding principles of his work when, in 1972, he took on the leadership of the company, carrying on the family legacy.

OUR HISTORY

WE CONTINUE TO GROW, BUILDING ON OUR ROOTS AND LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

Under the leadership of Giuliano Tombacco, initially supported by some of his brothers, Rinomata Cantina Tombacco experienced a phase of consolidation and growth. These were years in which the winery strengthened its production and organizational structure, while keeping its relationship with the land and the people who cultivate it at the heart of everything it does.
An important step during this period was the acquisition of Azienda Agricola Trevisana, which made it possible to expand the vineyard holdings and further strengthen the family’s wine project.
With the arrival of the new millennium, Rinomata Cantina Tombacco entered a phase of profound renewal. Since 2005, the third generation has been actively involved in the company, bringing new skills and an open-minded approach to the evolving sector.
Andrea Tombacco contributes to administrative management, while Cristian Tombacco, together with his father Giuliano, plays a central role in strategic and commercial development. In 2007, 47 Anno Domini was founded: a project that reinterprets the family heritage in a contemporary way, combining tradition with a contemporary vision.
In recent years, the winery has expanded its work of research and selection, enhancing local wines from across Italy. A path guided by attention to quality, sustainability, and the ability to connect with different markets and cultures, while always maintaining a strong connection to its origins.
Today, the evolution of Rinomata Cantina Tombacco continues, driven by passion and experience: a bridge between the great history of the Tombacco family and an open, forward-looking vision of the future.
